Nicholas Bewes

Nicholas has overall responsibility to the Board and Shareholders for the management of the Howard Group of Companies, encompassing Howard Property Group and Howard Capital Partners. Prior to joining the Howard Group in 1999, Nicholas worked with The BOC Group for ten years, where he held various management positions. His responsibilities included a variety of functions including Change Management, Marketing and Communications, Product Development and Global Supply Management. Nicholas is a Trustee of various Charities, is Regional Chair of the Institute for Family Business and sits on the Board of Cambridge Ahead.

Patrick Bushnell

Non Executive Chairman

Joined the Board in January 2009. Patrick has enjoyed a very distinguished career in the commercial property world and was most recently the European Director of Property Investment at Henderson Global Investors. He is also involved as a consultant to a number of property investment funds both in the UK and overseas. He has a wide and detailed experience of property investment, development, tax and fund structures. Patrick originally comes from Cambridge having been educated at the Leys School, he now lives near Saffron Walden. He is a Fellow of the RICS and a member of the Investment Property Forum

John Bullough

Until his retirement in 2010, John was Chief Executive of Aldar Properties in Abu Dhabi, UAE. There he led a multinational team delivering a $30bn development programme including the 600 acre Yas Island project. Prior to Aldar he was Retail Director with Grosvenor and was responsible for major retail-led, mixed-use projects including Liverpool One, Basingstoke and Dublin. He has been involved in delivering several significant projects in Cambridge including the Grafton Centre, Grand Arcade and Trumpington Meadows. John is on the Board of Aukett Swanke Group plc, on the Advisory Committee of the Hendersons UK shopping centre fund, Non Executive Director of Notting Hill Housing Trust and a Trustee of CSV.

Dominic Reilly

Non Executive Director

Dominic joined the Howard Board in January 2014. He was previously a Director of Corporate Finance at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he moved following the acquisition of King Sturge, where he was joint Managing Partner of King Sturge Finance. Prior to this, Dominic was a co-founder of Kingfisher Property Finance & Partnerships, specialists in arranging finance and collective investments for UK commercial property. Dominic is a graduate of Cambridge University and Treasurer of Cambridge University Land Society and a Director of Ashtenne Industrial (General Partner) Ltd.

Huw Jones

Finance Director

Huw became Finance Director for the Howard Group in September 2014. Prior to joining the Company, Huw worked for JP Morgan in London where he established their Private Equity and Real Estate Fund service business in Europe. An experienced chartered accountant, Huw has worked within both large businesses and smaller early stage technology companies. Huw spent 8 years with PWC working on M&A work in their Cambridge office and is a Graduate from Cambridge University.

William Jewson

Development Director

William joined the company in 2007 and is responsible for the property development portfolio. He works closely with the Property Group management team to explore the redevelopment of existing assets as well as identifying and promoting future developments. Formally worked for Slough Estates plc as Development Manager for 12 years, predominantly on commercial and mixed-use developments around Heathrow and West London.

Simon Messervy

Property & Services Director

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Group’s commercial portfolio. Simon joined in February 2007 after working for almost 20 years at Lambert Smith Hampton in Cambridge and Peterborough. At LSH he held a number of management and surveying roles. During his time at LSH, he managed HPG’s shopping centre in Peterborough, The Werrington Centre.

Colin Brown

Director – Portfolio Development

Colin has overall responsibility for strategic asset management across the Howard Group portfolio, as well as leading some of the groups commercial development activities across the east of England and London. He was previously a Development Director with the Easter Group, supervising the acquisition, construction and disposal of a number of industrial and office estates. He is married and is a keen musician and sportsman.

Christopher Malings

Property Services Surveyor

Christopher looks after the day-to-day demands of the Group’s extensive property portfolio. He is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with four years previous experience in an Estate Management role having previously worked for Derrick Wade Waters of Harlow. His role means he is involved with landlord and tenant issues, property management, lettings and lease renewals. Christopher successfully achieved MRICS status in 2009 and is a RICS registered valuer. He was educated at the University of Warwick and Oxford Brookes University where he achieved a RICS accredited MSc in Real Estate Management.

Robin Lea

Financial Controller

Robin joined Howard Group in April 2016 to take on the role of finance controller.  Reporting to the Finance Director, Robin’s duties include overseeing the day-to-day running of the accounts department and producing quarterly management accounts and Board packs.  Robin has worked as a Financial Controller and Management Accountant for the last 14 years. He spent 4 years working at Land Securities and Tishman Speyer supporting Development and Asset Managers.

Will Banks

Development Manager

Will joined Howard Group in January 2015 and works closely with the other members of the development team progressing projects across the Group. Will’s role includes identifying, promoting and delivering development opportunities. Will has experience in commercial, retail and residential development and previously worked for EC Harris as a Senior Development Manager, including a period seconded to Grosvenor. Prior to that he was Associate Director at Howard Holdings (unrelated) managing residential and mixed-use projects.

Alan Hudson

Accounts Manager

Reporting to the Financial Controller, Alan helps to run the day-to-day account functions, including producing the Group’s Service Charge accounts for external audit, company VAT returns and Credit Control. Before joining the Howard Group, Alan spent 5 years at Hypro EU Ltd, a spray tip design and manufacturing company operating in both agricultural and industrial sectors.

Stephanie Faulkner

Property Administrator

Stephanie reports to the Property Director and Property Services Director, providing administrative support to both the Property and Development teams. Working closely with the Property Estates Manager she liaises with the Group’s tenants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of the Group’s properties.

Magdalena Swierczynska

Accounts Assistant

Magda joined the Howard Group in May 2016 to take on the role of Accounts Assistant.  Duties include reporting to the Finance Controller, looking after the purchase/sales ledger, daily banking and monthly cash reconciliations, plus other administrative duties within the department.  Magda previously worked in London for Crate Brewery Ltd.

Laura Mills

Property Assistant

Laura joined Howard Group in April 2016 as part of the Property Department.  Working closely with the Property Administrator she provides administrative support to the team, as well as liaising with tenants and suppliers on a daily basis, ensuring the smooth running of both the office and the Company’s properties.

Shahila Mitchell

Interim Executive Assistant

Shahila provides administrative support to the Chief Executive, shareholders and non-executive directors. She is also responsible for ensuring the head office runs smoothly.  Shahila has previously worked for professional services firms in London and Cambridge.
